The Writer's Life 5/6 - Retirees & Tourists

According to an article in today's NY Post, a trend has begun. For decades many foreign born folks have earned social security benefits working in America and then returned to their home countries to live out their days. Now Americans are retiring to foreign countries in order to make ends meet. Each month 500,000 social security checks are mailed overseas, 100,000 more than two years ago. Panama, Belize, Uruguay and Malaysia are the most tax-friendly places, taxing only income made in country.

The Weird But True column contains an item that will warm the hearts of fellow unabashed capitalists. The tourism industry in Trier, Germany, where Karl Marx was born, is making a bundle printing zero Euro bills that bear his likeness. Now that's creative thinking. Don't spend it all in one place. The Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris (Where else?) became the first in the city to open its doors to nudists, granting them special visiting hours to a one-time naturist exhibit. The tour was attended by around 160 visitors. Here's a pic:
