The Writer's Life 10/7 - Regression

Week Five of the NFL season is in the books. New England rebounded decisively, rumors of its demise premature... The Lions reverted to the form that rips the heart out of their fans... The Giants won a must-game at home against a mediocre, at best, opponent, setting up next Sunday night’s showdown in Philly, although let‘s not forget the Cowgirls are off to a great start, currently tied atop the NFC East with the Eagles at 4-1... The season already seems lost for the Jets. They’d always had a knack of beating the Chargers, even in San Diego. To be shut out on the road, 0-31, is a bad sign -- and high-flying Denver is up next. Yikes... The most interesting event occurred last night. Seahawks WR Percy Harvin had three TD’s nullified by penalty, a 16-yard run, and receptions of 26 and 41 yards. I don’t recall this having ever happened and, apparently, neither does anyone else. Record books will have to be scoured. Seattle is not Super Bowl-ready, at least not at this point.

I've loved Gotham so far, and I'm so looking forward to the series premiere of The Flash tonight at eight on the WB. Help, I'm regressing into adolescence.

The rain predicted for the afternoon did not materialize except for a couple of stray drops, so I got in a full session of the floating book shop. My thanks to the people who bought and donated. Of the five books I sold, four were very large. I was beginning to think the one about Iphone technology would never sell. Fortunately, a guy happened along who is capable of understanding it. Natalia had a nice laugh as she paid for her book in Russian and I said spasibo. She taught me an alternative word for thank you. It sounded like pajalooska. I can't wait to try it out on somebody else.
