Selling My Books on the Streets of Brooklyn 6/1 - Bliss

I had a pleasant dream last night. I had passed away and, to my surprise and delight, awoke in an afterlife that was bliss. Freud believed dreams are wish fulfillment. Is there a greater wish than to live forever in one form or another? If only.... I don't know what prompted the dream. I'm not at all religious. I have no trouble believing there was a creator of the universe. After all, something doesn't come from nothing. But I don't believe God intercedes in the affairs of mankind. I have no proof of this. It is based on simple, perhaps simplistic logic: if God cared, children wouldn't suffer horrible diseases. Just about all the other bad that happens is the result of the sins of men and women. Of course, I would much prefer God to be caring and just, but I don't see any evidence of that. I wish I had the quiet faith so many have. I doubt I'd get to heaven. I'd have to spend a lot of time in purgatory making up for a ton of pettiness.

Having forgotten my password, I had to start all over again at Twitter. I've said this before. I don't use it in the spirit it was intended. Its adept users make interesting comments throughout the day, probably on portable devices. I visit it three times a day on my pc, twice shamelessly promoting my books. I did reap one outstanding reward from it -- I discovered WheelMan Press, which published Exchanges, so my time there has been well worth it. It proved beneficial moments ago too. I received a rejection notice from a publisher regarding my rock n roll epic, Rising Star. Amongst the email was a notice that another is following me. I just sent in a query about the novel, which took a little of the sting out. Rejections outnumber acceptances at least a thousand to one. That is a writer's life, at least most of us.

My thanks to the the kind folks who purchased books today on Bay Parkway, and to the gentleman who donated four huge self-help tomes, two paperbacks by Sidney Sheldon and a hardcover of Rama Revealed by Arthur C. Clarke and Gentry Lee, which sold immediately.
