The Writer's Life 12/9 - Mostly Good News

Here are excerpts from an op-ed piece in today's NY Post by Steven W. Mosher, edited slightly by yours truly: "The share of those living in extreme poverty, according to the World Bank, has shrunk from 44% to under 10% over the last four decades. Nearly 1.1 billion people have been lifted out of extreme poverty just since 1990..." "Meanwhile, according to the US Census Bureau, poverty in the US has declined to its lowest level in 15 years and is closing in on its lowest level ever."

I've never seen The Greg Gutfeld Show, which airs on the Fox News Channel. I don't watch CNN or MSNBC or any network "news" broadcasts, either. Anyway, his writers came up with a fun list of PC song titles. Here are a few: Santa Claus is Coming to My Sanctuary City, Grandma Got Run Over By a Prius, Deck the Halls With Marxist Literature, White Privilege Christmas, I Saw Mommy and Daddy Kissing Santa Claus. It's a gag. There is no such CD. Don't bother looking for it. I already checked Amazon and K-Mart, and googled it.

So the swamp finally has the goods on President Trump - again. If only government were as transparent as politics and the mainstream media.

The lack of sunshine led to an abbreviated session of the floating book shop. My thanks to the gentleman who bought the never-opened Kinsey (2004) DVD and two works of non-fiction, one of them How to Make Yourself (or Anyone Else) Famous: The Secrets of a Professional Publicist by Gloria Michels; and to the young woman who pounced on the pictorial She, which contains beautiful shots of famous women; and to the old-timer who purchased two books in Russian. It was the first time I'd ever seen him without a walker, although he's still accompanied by an attendant.
