Selling My Books on the Streets of Brooklyn 1/5 - Rock Quiz 4

I’ve proofed 90 pages of my rock n roll epic, Rising Star. Each chapter begins with a quote from a song. Here is quiz #4. Guess the artist and song. Degree of difficulty will be in parenthesis. Answers at the the of the blog:
31. "...Jesus is just all right with me...." (2)
32. "...Fame, fame, fame, fame...." (1)
33. "...'scuse me while I kiss the sky...." (1)
34. "...too much coke, and too much smoke...." (8)
35. "...He feels the pistons scraping, Steam breaking on his brow...." (6)
36. "...You can check out any time you, but you can never leave...." (3)
37. "...Welcome, my son/Welcome to the machine...." (2)
38. "...School's been blown to pieces...." (4)
39. "...Sometimes to be near you is to be unable to hear you...." (8)
40. "...In searching for a meaningful embrace, sometimes my self respect took second place...." (10)

Game time temperature in Green Bay is forecast to be 2 degrees. Such conditions always bring an interesting element to the game. Of course, as a Baby Boomer, this recalls the most memorable NFL Championship ever, dubbed the Ice Bowl. It was 1967 and the temperature was -13 with a wind chill factor of -48. The event is captured beautifully by NFL films. I can still hear the voice of legendary narrator John Facenda describe the field as "the frozen tundra." The Packers defeated the Cowboys 21-17, QB Bart Starr scoring the winning TD on a sneak behind a double team by center Ken Bowman and right guard Jerry Kramer on defensive tackle Jethro Pugh. Several players on each team suffered frostbite.

Here’s the commentary my lovely niece Tanya posted at Amazon about Exchanges:
“For me, it's about the characters. I love this author's work because he helps me see the characters so clearly that I feel I can connect with them. There's a little of each of them in me, but especially the main character whose thoughts and feelings are expressed and described so well. In a way I feel I've experienced their events with them.”
Love you.
