It is estimated that Bonnie and Clyde stole $15,000, a car and a turkey in their celebrated crime spree. Yesterday two of their guns were auctioned for a total of $504,000. Apparently, crime pays even decades after death. Killers of at least 12, they continue to capture the imagination of a large segment of the public. Dead in their early 20’s, I believe they got just what they deserved. Arthur Penn’s stylish, largely fictional film of their exploits (1967), although well done and very entertaining, was a crock.
Now that Castle and Beckett have finally become lovers, will the fun series decline?
Given the forecast, I didn't expect to open the floating book shop at all. Since the rain had yet to arrive by 10:45, I gave it a shot and got lucky. I thank the gentleman who purchased hardcover mysteries by Kate Atkinson and Anne Perry, and Simon, who donated several books just as it started to sprinkle.
